The young friends of &lt;a href="{localLink:3087}"&gt;Asterias Children’s Club&lt;/a&gt;, the mini – club of Creta Maris Convention &amp;amp; Golf Resort, had the opportunity to visit the Biological Garden of the hotel.&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt; 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
&lt;span&gt;This activity was part of the overall context of the environmental program of Maris Green Team, the ecological team of the hotel, whose aim was to bring children closer to the natural environment. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt; 
&lt;/p&gt;

The children participated in this action with their parents and were able to come in touch with different kinds of vegetables such as tomatoes, zucchini, peppers and fruits like watermelons, melons, figs and mulberries as well as herbs, such as basil and oregano. &lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt; 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
&lt;span&gt;It is considered noteworthy that the Biological Garden has been created in the most natural and environmentally safe way. In particular, regarding the fertilization and creation of plants, the method of bees has been used. The bees alone contribute significantly to the production of the garden, without any human or artificial intervention. &lt;/span&gt;
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
&lt;span&gt;Furthermore, our young visitors met and fed the animals that have been raised in the Biological garden.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt; 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
&lt;span&gt;Continuing their visit, the guests of Asterias Children’s Club engaged themselves in painting, by drawing and coloring all the things they saw and were impressed by, and gave the promise to learn more about the environment, to respect and care it. &lt;/span&gt;

The Italian Cooking Lessons are continued with enthusiasm at the«Limoncello» Restaurant of Creta &amp;amp; Terra Maris Convention &amp;amp; Golf Resort in Hersonissos. 
&lt;/p&gt;

Implementing the program from the beginning of the season, there are many people who enjoy their “ initiation”  to the secrets of  the worldwide adored cuisine instructed by the award winning Chef Matteo Masciocchi, who imparts  the joy of creation and welfare.

Inside the impressive site of the Italian restaurant, the students participate actively in the preparation and execution of Italian recipes with fresh and authentic ingredients.

Armed with the proper clothing and a lots of mood, they learn to make appetizers, fresh pasta – such as  fouzili, pennes, rigatoni, ravioli, gnocchi made of spinach or potato - unique sauces, different kinds of bread with herbs and spices - as well as famous desserts. 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
Furthermore, this process turns out to be fun also for the young ones, to whom the chef grants his apron and encourages them to experiment, exceeding the limits of their imagination. 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
Participants – of all ages, residents of the hotel and not only - enjoy at the end of every lesson the fruits of their efforts.

			&lt;td style="vertical-align: top"&gt;On the occasion of the World Environment Day, Creta &amp;amp; Terra Maris Convention &amp;amp; Golf Resort organized a programme for our little friends who were hosted these days at Asterias Childrens’ Club of the Hotel. 
			&lt;p&gt;
			In the framework of the “International Year of Biodiversity”, as the year 2010 was named by the Environmental Programme of the United Nations, a 3-day program of activities was coordinated, including information issues and childrens’ expression related  to the environment. 
			&lt;/p&gt;
			&lt;p&gt;
			In particular, the children were informed  in a fun way about ecological matters, built small works of art from recycled and natural materials and painted their own “green” world, showing us in this way their own approach. 
			&lt;/p&gt;
			&lt;p&gt;
			Upon completion of their creations, the works of our little friends were displayed at “Kochlias” Restaurant, where the hotel guests had the opportunity to admire and express their wishes for a “greener” planet.

The general revitalization that takes place under the significant three-year renovation of Creta Maris Convention &amp; Golf Resort, in Hersonissos, Crete, goes to the appearance of the personnel as well, with the new impressive uniforms.

The famous Greek designer Makis Tselios created elegant uniforms, while keeping the style of the hotel and the philosophy of the company.

Elegant lines, fine fabrics in suits and shirts, silk scarf and ties, and attention to the detail, are some features of the comfortable uniforms in which the blue colour dominates in combination with white, light blue and beige.

      <title>Seminars inventing people hotels</title>

In the context of continuous training and retraining of manpower, Creta Maris &amp; Terra Maris Convention &amp; Golf Resort, from the beginning of this year's season, already held a series of educational seminars for all personnel of the resorts and the Convention Centre.

The administration of Creta Maris &amp; Terra Maris Convention &amp; Golf Resort, located in Hersonissos, Crete, places particular emphasis and invests in education and training of human resources. The General Manager, Mr. Jörg A.       <title>International Environmental Distinction</title>

Creta Maris Convention &amp; Golf Resort in Hersonissos, Crete, is once again one of the 100 hotels worldwide, winning a distinction from the leading travel agency TUI for its environmental policy. This distinction is an addition to a series of international environmental awards that Creta Maris Convention &amp; Golf Resort distracted from big tour operators over the years.

Specifically, the luxury resort was awarded for its environmental policy with the distinction of «TUI Umwelt Champion» by TUI, who ranks the best 100 hotels worldwide within its associates.

      <title>MIC Talent Search 2009</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;
MINOAN International College will award several &lt;strong&gt;academic scholarships&lt;/strong&gt; for the academic year 2009 - 2010, to gifted candidates who wish to study business or hospitality and tourism management at MIC.
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
The competition is open to all high school graduates who meet the entrance qualifications listed below. Students in their final year of high school (graduating spring 2009) are also welcome to participate.
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
The &lt;strong&gt;International Scholarship Competition&lt;/strong&gt; will take place at MIC (Terra Maris Convention &amp; Golf Resort, GR 700 14 Limin Hersonissos, Iraklion, Crete, Greece) &lt;strong&gt;on Wednesday May 13th 2009, between 12.00 noon and 3.00 p.m.&lt;/strong&gt; Candidates living outside the area will be able to participate “&lt;strong&gt;on-line&lt;/strong&gt;”.
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
The aim of the competition is to identify and support gifted individuals who wish to obtain a university level education at an English speaking institution of higher learning and to pursue a managerial career in business or the hospitality and tourism industry.

No special preparation is necessary.
&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;strong&gt;Assessment Procedure:&lt;/strong&gt; An Academic Committee consisting of the Chief Academic Officer, the Academic Dean and three faculty members of MIC will evaluate each candidate’s test performance. It should be noted that the scholarships will be awarded on the basis of prior academic achievement, letters of recommendation, participation in extracurricular activities, the essay submitted at the time of application as well as the competition test results.
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
Finalists for the competition will be short-listed and interviewed by the Academic Committee. The scholarship recipients will then be announced and &lt;strong&gt;will begin their studies on September 21st, 2009.&lt;/strong&gt;

      <title>Creta Maris Convention &amp; Golf Resort Undergoes Renovations crete greece</title>

Creta Maris Convention &amp; Golf Resort is in the midst of an important undertaking.  Beginning in winter 2008 and continuing through the season in 2009, the first part of the 3-year renovation plan by the Metaxas Group of Companies, SA, has materialized.&lt;br /&gt;

All the main building bathrooms will be fully restored and refurbished when we open our doors in April 2009.

Another important aspect of our renovations, and one we’re proud to deliver, is the newly built pool, complete with wooden deck, which brings the number of private pools in the complex to 3, not including the indoor and children’s pools.

A new management team with a potential profile surrounds the administration of Creta Maris &amp;amp; Terra Maris Convention &amp;amp; Golf Resort &amp;amp; Convention Centre. &lt;br /&gt;
The new management team has a considerable international experience in the tourism industry. Their aim is to establish the resorts in the Greek and international market based on the high quality accommodation offered.

&lt;span&gt;O Mr Jörg A. Hauri, General Manager of Creta Maris, Terra Maris Convention &amp;amp; Golf Resort and Convention Centre, will enhance development and progress of the resorts and maximize its comparative advantages through his broad, international experience in hotel management and with the contribution of the new management team. &lt;br /&gt;
Born in Switzerland, from where his career began, Mr. Hauri has a long international career in hospitality industry. In thirty six years of service, he has international hospitality experience in countries such as Australia, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, China, Thailand and Japan. &lt;br /&gt;

Mr Christopher Vonglis, Director of Sales, Marketing &amp;amp; Development, has a great professional experience in international luxury hotels. &lt;br /&gt;
He began his career as Head of Sales at a conference travel agency. In 1992 continued the successful professional career in the tourism industry «passing» to the hospitality industry. During the course of business held positions as Director of International Sales and Director of Sales &amp;amp; Region Marketing. &lt;br /&gt;
Before the assignment of his new duties at Creta &amp;amp; Terra Mariris Convention &amp;amp; Golf Resort &amp;amp; Convention Centre, he held positions at luxury hotel in Athens, owned by a multinational hotel chain. 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
Mr. Vonglis is a graduate MSc in Hospitality, Sales &amp;amp; Marketing. &lt;br /&gt;
On the objectives and challenges of the new position he states: &amp;quot;We have created a new strong high-level management team at the hotels of the Metaxas group, which has played an important role in the history of tourism development in Crete. Our goal is to offer our customers a unique experience of hospitality and accommodation and conference services that meet the highest international standards.       <title>4th BENNALLE OF THE STUDENTS OF THE GREEK SCHOOLS OF ARTS IN ATTIKO METRO SYNTAGMA</title>

The 4th Biennale of the students of the Greek Schools of Fine Arts to be presented at the Attiko Metro Syntagma. 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
In the exhibition area of the Syntagma METRO the exhibition of the works of the students who participated  in the 4th Biennale of the Greek School of Fine Arts will be inaugurated on Friday 9th February. The exhibition will remain open until the 26th February 2007.&lt;br /&gt;
This Exhibition started out as an annual Art competition, which was enacted in 1997 by the Maris Hotels and the newspaper “News Art”, under the auspices of the Athens School of Fine Arts, and a few year later it developed into a Biennale encompassing the participation of the students  of the Department of Fine &amp;amp; Applied Arts of the Aristotelio University of Sa.lonica. In previous years, the awards given to the finest works, and the exhibition of the participating works was held in Crete.&lt;br /&gt;
The exhibiting of the works of the 4th Biennale, in which 130 students participated, was held on the 11th November and all works remained for 1 month in the exhibition are of the &lt;a href="{localLink:1300}"&gt;Creta Maris&lt;/a&gt; conference centre, Hersonissos, Heraklion, Crete. This is the first time that this institution has been moved to Athens.&lt;br /&gt;
Biennale is the only event in which both Greek Schools of Fine Arts, that of Athens and Salonica, have developed artistic dialogue and has been realized for the past 10 years. &lt;br /&gt;
The exhibition will be opened by the Minister of the Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works, Mr George Souflias, on Friday 9th February, at 20.00. 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
